A year at our school
UOW Discovery Day - Bega Campus
Our Year 6 students recently enjoyed an exciting Discovery Day at the University of Wollongong’s Bega Campus. The visit gave them a firsthand look at university life, inspiring curiosity and a passion for learning through interactive workshops and campus tours. It was a fantastic opportunity for students to explore future education pathways in a supportive and engaging environment.
Water Bug Survey
The Bournda Water Bug Survey is a fun, hands-on activity where students explore local waterways to study water bugs and learn about freshwater ecosystems. This experience helps raise awareness of environmental health and the importance of protecting our natural habitats.
Let's Get It Sorted waste education program.
The Let's Get It Sorted program, run by Bournda Environmental Education Centre, is a hands-on waste education initiative designed to empower students with practical knowledge about waste management and recycling. Through engaging activities and real-world learning, the program encourages young minds to make sustainable choices and reduce their environmental footprint.
Bemboka Flower Show
The students enjoy being part of the Annual Bemboka Flower Show. They showcase artwork and floral arrangements for judging.
Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Foundation Program
Our students are thriving in the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Foundation program, where they learn valuable cooking and gardening skills. This hands-on experience fosters healthy eating habits, creativity, and a deeper connection to the food they grow and prepare.
STEM Pentathlon
Students eagerly participated in the STEM Pentathlon, tackling exciting challenges that sparked their creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. This engaging event inspired a passion for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics through hands-on activities and friendly competition.
AFL Skills Program
This year our school participated in the AFL Skills Program. It is designed to introduce students to the fundamentals of Australian Rules Football in a supportive and enjoyable environment. Through a range of specially tailored drills and activities, students work on improving key skills such as kicking, handballing, marking, and game awareness. The program emphasises not only physical fitness but also important values like teamwork, fair play, and communication. By participating, students build confidence, develop coordination, and foster a love for sport, all while having fun and staying active.
2025 Book Week Celebrations
Book an Adventure
Our 2025 Book Week was a wonderful success, bringing families together to celebrate the joy of reading. The highlight of the week was the much-anticipated Book Parade, where students showcased their favourite book characters in colourful and creative costumes.
Soccer Knockout
Our students showed great teamwork and sportsmanship during the Soccer Knockout competition, playing with enthusiasm and determination. The event was a fantastic opportunity to build skills, make new friends, and celebrate the spirit of the game.
Sapphire Coast Learning Community
Performing Arts Festival
Two brilliant evenings of performances from various local school at the SCLC Performing Arts Festival in Bega. The calibre of performances across the Sapphire Coast Public Schools was incredible. We had students perform in the choir and our Dance Ensemble.
Harmony Day
Our school proudly celebrates Harmony Day, embracing the rich cultural diversity that makes our community unique. Through engaging activities and shared stories, students come together to promote respect, inclusion, and a sense of belonging for everyone. Harmony Day is a special reminder that we all thrive when we celebrate our differences and work as one.
Easter Hat
Our school’s Easter Hat Parade was a vibrant and joyous celebration that brought the whole community together. Students from every grade put their creativity on display, designing and decorating Easter hats with bright colours, spring flowers, and festive themes. The parade not only showcased their artistic talents but also encouraged teamwork and school spirit as students helped each other prepare their unique hats. Family members and staff joined in to cheer on the participants, making the event a fun-filled occasion that brightened the school day and celebrated the joy of the Easter season.
